How to enroll

HSP is accepting applications for the 2026-2027 school year. Our school year begins in early-September and ends in late-May; we are not a year-round program.

Our Process is simple!

1. Complete the Interest Queue form to let us know you’re interested.

2. We will reach out to schedule a conversation and a video or in-person tour of our beautiful, colorful space in NE Portland.

3. If spots are available, the registrar will reach out with an enrollment offer!

4. Complete required payments and forms through Jovial.

The information on this form is confidential. Hancock Street Preschool admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, or ability to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic or other school-administered programs. 

We are a secular program. While we rent space from a church, we are not affiliated with any religion.

Tuition

Tuition for the Red Class (3 year-old class) is $220 per month. Class meets Tuesday and Thursday, from 9:30am to 12pm.

Tuition for the Blue Class (4 year-old class) is $330 per month. Class meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30am to 12pm. There are optional opportunities to extend the school day until 1pm with additional programs in Spanish, Yoga and a lunch bunch.

Participation in school fundraising is a requirement.

Financial assistance is available.

Important Dates

Enrollment Timeline for the school year:

Fall/Winter: Enrollment for current and alumni HSP families begins. Applications open for all interested families.

Early February: Open House is the first Saturday in February and must be attended in order to register at HSP. If you are interested in HSP and can’t attend, please contact our registrar.

Mid-February: Families who have applied will be contacted in order of the date they submitted the Interest Queue form. Each family is given a few days to fill out their registration forms and make the initial payment in order for your spot to be reserved. This procedure will continue until all spots have been filled.

March through August: Families are welcome to join our Interest Queue at any time—if we have spaces available, we will reach out to you as soon as possible to get the information and enrollment process started right away!

September: Your child must be 3 by September 1, 2026 to be eligible for the Red Class, or 4 by September 1st to be eligible for the Blue Class. Class begins the first week after Labor Day.
